THE SHORT VERSION

- We collect what we need to make and ship your order, answer your messages, and run the site.
- Checkout is handled by Shopify. We never see your full card number.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how our site is used and to measure advertising. You can decline it at any time.
- We do not sell your personal information.

WHO WE ARE

Barlow Fabrication is a small business in the United States that designs and 3D-prints replacement parts for electric recliners and phone cases. This policy covers barlowfabrication.com, our Shopify-hosted checkout at shop.barlowfabrication.com, orders placed through AI shopping assistants, and email you send us. WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY

Orders and checkout. When you buy something, Shopify collects your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if you give one) and payment details on our behalf. Payment is processed by Shopify and its payment providers; we receive confirmation that you paid, not your card number. We keep a record of what you ordered, the order number and its shipping status so we can make, ship and support the product and honour our guarantee. Orders placed through our Etsy shop work the same way, with Etsy in place of Shopify.

Accounts. If you create an account on barlowfabrication.com we store your email address, a hashed version of your password (we cannot read it), and any name or phone number you add. Accounts are optional.

Messages, requests and claims. The contact form, custom development requests and warranty claims send us what you type and any photos you attach, with your name and email address so we can reply. We keep them while the request or claim is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Automatically collected information. Our servers and our network provider (Cloudflare) log the IP address, browser type, requested page and time of each request, used for security and to keep the site running. If something goes wrong in your browser, the site may send us an error report with the page you were on and your browser type. These logs are not used to build a profile of you.

COOKIES

- Sign-in cookie and browser storage: keeps you signed in to your account. Essential. Lasts until you sign out or the session expires.
- bf-consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. Preference. Lasts until you clear your browser storage.
- _ga and _ga_<id>: Google Analytics, tells returning visits apart and ties page views into a session. Only set with your consent, or where you have not opted out. Lasts up to 2 years.
- Shopify checkout cookies: set by Shopify on shop.barlowfabrication.com to run the cart and checkout and to protect against fraud. Essential. Described in Shopify's cookie policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

The site also keeps a small cache of image addresses in your browser's session storage so pages load faster. It is cleared when you close the tab and identifies nothing about you.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS AND ADVERTISING MEASUREMENT

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to learn which pages are visited, how people find the site and which products get attention. Google processes this information for us using cookies and your browser's characteristics; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. The same tag lets us measure whether an advert we run (for example on Google) led to a visit or a purchase. We do not use it to show you personalised ads on other sites.

Your consent choices. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, nothing from Google loads until you accept the cookie notice. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can decline it in the notice. We honour the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as a decline. Declining removes Google's cookies from our site, and you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. You can also block Google Analytics everywhere with Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. WHO WE SHARE INFORMATION WITH

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:

- Shopify and Etsy run our checkout and process payments.
- Shipping carriers receive your name and address to deliver your order.
- Google processes analytics data as described above.
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks.
- Our email provider carries order confirmations, account emails and our replies to you.

We also disclose information when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information and do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

SHOPPING THROUGH AI ASSISTANTS

Our products may be listed in AI shopping assistants (such as ChatGPT, Google's AI features or Microsoft Copilot) through Shopify. If you buy through one of them, the assistant collects what you tell it under its own privacy policy, and the order reaches us through Shopify like any other. We receive the order details needed to make and ship it, nothing from your conversation.

HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

Order records are kept for as long as the 3-year guarantee on the product runs and as long as tax and accounting rules require. Account data stays until you ask us to delete the account. Messages and claims are kept while they are open and for a reasonable time afterwards. Server logs are kept for a short period for security. Google Analytics keeps event data for 14 months.

YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

Wherever you live, you can email us to ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted (we may need to keep order records the law requires us to keep). We answer within 30 days. You can also decline or withdraw analytics cookies using the cookie notice, delete your account by emailing us from the account's address, and unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in the email (we do not send marketing email unless you asked for it).

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland you have additional rights under data protection law, including the right to object to processing and to complain to your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases are performing our contract with you (orders, accounts), our legitimate interest in running and securing the site, and your consent (analytics cookies).

If you are a California resident, the rights above cover the access, deletion and correction rights the California Consumer Privacy Act describes. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we honour Global Privacy Control signals.

CHILDREN

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

SECURITY

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, payment details never touch our servers, and access to order data is limited to the people who make and ship your order. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

When we change this policy we update the effective date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will say so before it takes effect.
